First Taste of the Champagne Apple – As Seen on WEAU

The Champagne apple was founded by Fred Dixon grandfather of owner Becky Mullane in New Mexico, and we are so happy to be growing it again in the Chippewa Valley.

Opening Day for World-Exclusive Champagne Apple at Dixon’s Apple Orchard

Come witness history being made right here in the Chippewa Valley! Dixon’s Apple Orchard’s unique and patented Champagne apple will be ready for the public to taste on Friday, October 4, opening at 9:00 a.m.

“After an eight-year wait, we finally have some first crop Champagne apples to share for however long they last,” states owner Becky Mullane. She also adds, “The Champagne apple is a spicy-sweet; something extra special!”

Dixon’s Champagne Apples Featured in Number 12 Cider!


The champagne apple, unique to Dixon’s Apple Orchard, has been transformed into a hard cider at Number 12 Cider located in Minneapolis, MN, and is on tap as long as supply lasts! The cider was named after “Fred Dixon”, current owner Becky Mullane’s grandfather.  Fred Dixon discovered and first grew the champagne apple in New Mexico.  The Mullane’s moved their orchard to Wisconsin in 2015 after fires and floods

Deck the Halls – As seen on WEAU, in the Chippewa Herald, and Mom’s Everyday!

On November 25th, 2018, Dixon’s Deck the Halls successfully brought hundreds of people from the Chippewa Valley out to Dixon’s Apple Orchard for a day full of holiday fun!
